Salary : £38,000 - £42,000 per annum

Hours : 35 hours per week

Contract : Fixed-Term - 6 months

Location :   Based in our Cockfosters Office until January 2025 then moving to Coram Campus (with hybrid home working)

Coram IAC - Intercountry Adoption Centre - now part of the of children's charities have been working with families adopting from across the world for over 26 years. Coram IAC is a charity, not-for-profit and an accredited, legally registered adoption agency. We run outstanding services to support children and families affected by adoption. With the majority of our adopters being from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds adopting from countries they are connected to our staff team also reflect this diversity. About the role

The primary role of Senior Social Worker (Intercountry Adoption) is to assist the work of the Assessment Team Manager in managing the two-stage approval process at Coram IAC. The role will include some face to face client contact in the form of complex case work, second opinion visits, risk assessments, initial interviews, progress decisions, training sessions etc. The Senior Social Worker will support the monitoring and management of the day to day running of the assessment processes for applicants; the Assessment Team Manager will oversee this.

They will be responsible to the Senior Leadership and Operational Management Team and Assessment Team Manager and Senior Social Workers. Internal relationships will be principally with case workers, other Senior Social Workers and Senior Business Support throughout the Agency.

They will be a team player who is comfortable at the prospect of working in a small, busy and growing agency. Being organized, effective and able to work in a creative and flexible manner are essential to the role.
