Job description

As our Head of HSE reporting to the GB&I QEHS Director, you will in this diverse, role provide EHS and Supply chain sustainability leadership across the Suntory GB&I business, ensuring the highest operational standards and compliance. As part of the Suntory Beverage and Food Europe Zero Harm program, this role will accelerate the safety culture and drive the Zero Harm mindset throughout the GB&I business. The scope of the role includes EHS at Coleford manufacturing site, head-office, Ireland office plus soft FM services and waste management at Coleford.

YOUR ROLE

  • To define and maintain the highest level of operational EHS standards, and compliance with all internal and external standards, regulatory requirements, environmental permits and associated monitoring programs (inc. ISO14001, ISO45001, MCERTS, FEMAS).
  • Development of GB&I EHS strategic mid- and long-term improvement plans
  • Support SBF GB&I teams in achieving safe Gemba across factories, wholesale, farms and warehouses.
  • Lead EHS incident management through effective decision making, communication and RCA investigations.
  • Drive the regional EHS Zero Harm strategy through roll out of DSS+ safety leadership program
  • Ensure that capital investments are aligned with EHS requirements and demonstrate effective project ownership, leadership and execution.
  • Responsible for the provision of security, contracted services and waste management at the Coleford manufacturing plant
  • Lead GB&I supply chain sustainability program to deliver 2030 targets, including Carbon Net Zero, waste and water reduction targets.
  • Management of ~£ annual overhead budget for EHS, contracted services and safety training.
  • Active membership of SBF GB&I SLT and European EHS Managers Group
  • Foster employee engagement, development, talent management and succession planning
  • Champion Suntory principles and role model the Suntory leadership behaviours

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Experience of operational EHS leadership experience, preferably within a FMCG role
  • Proven expertise in Environment, Health and Safety & sustainability management supported by NEBOSH Level 6, IEMA and other specific qualifications relevant to the field.
  • Experience of successfully defining and implementing EHS strategies within industrial settings
  • Strong technical understanding of legislative safety requirements, manufacturing plant design, and operational standards
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining EHS Management systems and leading improvement / change programs across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience of leading incident management
  • Experience of communicating complex issues to a non-technical audience
  • Experience of using data to facilitate risk-based EHS decision making
  • Experience of managing effective and efficient waste and recycling operations
  • Proven development of people managers
  • Budget ownership and management
