Job descriptionPreviously worked as an Estimator or in a similar role in construction industry. Experience in Facades, cladding, metal and flat roofing. Understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques. Skilled in using estimating software and tools. Ideally have 1 year of surveying experience. GCSE or equivalent qualification would be preferred. Capable of evaluating project costs and devising strategies to manage and reduce expenses. Valid UK driving licence. - Examine project plans, specifications, and drawings to comprehend project requirements.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop precise cost estimates.
- Discover potential cost-saving measures and value engineering options.
- Prepare and submit thorough bid proposals promptly.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to collect necessary estimating information.
- Keep a database of historical cost data for future use.
- Track project costs during the construction process and regularly report to management.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
