Job Title : Deputy Nursery Manager (Maternity Cover) Location : Eastbourne Contract Type : Temporary, Fixed-term (12 months) Hours : Full-time (40 hours per week) Salary : Between £ and £ per hour

    Your new role :

  • Deliver a high standard of learning, development, and care for children aged 0-5 years.
  • Deputy for the Nursery Manager.
  • Supervise and appraise nursery staff as directed.
  • Ensure that the preschool nursery is a safe environment for children, staff, and others.
  • Develop partnerships with parents / carers to increase involvement in their child’s development.
  • Be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Nursery Manager.
  • Main Activities :

  • Provide a safe, caring, and stimulating educational environment both indoors and outdoors.
  • Deliver an appropriate play-based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Ensurepliance with Ofsted requirements.
  • Undertake designated officer roles as directed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals in the local area.
  • Implement preschool nursery policies and procedures.
  • Plan activities aligned with early learning goals.
  • Act as a key person for specific children.
  • Maintain proper records.
  • Liaise closely with parents / carers.
  • Contribute to self-evaluation and improvement planning.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as directed.
  • What you'll need to succeed

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Deputy Manager in a nursery setting.
  • Passion for child development and creating a positive learning environment.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
