About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services and the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator the Pharmacist is responsible to ensure safe and effective drug therapy optimizations and management for hemodialysis patients. The Renal Pharmacist participates in all aspects of care for renal patients including immunizations prescribing / deprescribing pharmacokinetic monitoring and is a steward for all appropriate medication use. The candidate will also engage in quality committees quality improvement and research initiatives. Further the candidate will provide educational sessions to other health care professionals as well as precept pharmacy learners.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following :

  • Graduation from a university program in Pharmacy
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
  • Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Minimum two years experience in clinical practice in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
  • Competencies in other languages an asset French preferred

Hours

  • Long Assignment / 100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Approximately 1 year
  • Weekend hours may be required
  • Up to 25% travel may be required
  • Compensation and Benefits

    47.03 - $58.77 Hourly

    Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health dental travel long-term disability and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
