The Role : We are seeking an experienced Lead SENCO to join our dedicated team. This permanent position is crucial for the continued success of our SEND provision and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on students and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Leading and managing the SEND provision across the school, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Coordinating and monitoring the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students with special educational needs.
  • Working closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the needs of all SEND students are met.
  • Providing training, guidance, and support to staff on SEND-related issues and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Overseeing the identification and assessment of students with SEND, ensuring appropriate interventions and support are in place.
  • Leading the annual review process for students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of SEND students and provision.
  • Ensuring effective use of SEND funding and resources to maximize impact.
  • Promoting a culture of inclusion and high expectations for all students.

    • Requirements :

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial experience in a SENCO role.
  • NASENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current SEND legislation.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school's ethos and values.
