Job description

We have exciting opportunities to work for local councils as a grounds maintenance operative. Pay rates start from £12.21 per hour, increasing to £18.31 for overtime hours. These roles are based in Braintree and Dunmow.

Main Duties of Grounds Maintenance Operative :

  • Carry out a range of tasks as per specifications and work schedules, including grounds maintenance activities such as grass cutting, sports field maintenance, hedge cutting, shrub bed maintenance, and litter-picking.
  • Complete all documentation related to the tasks performed.
  • Use and maintain vehicles, plant, tools, and equipment according to manufacturer instructions, including performing maintenance checks.
  • Wear the council's protective uniform and adhere to all health and safety regulations, including safe working practices and risk / COSHH assessments.

Pay :

  • Before 12 weeks : £11.52 / hour, OT rate : £17.28
  • After 12 weeks : £12.49 / hour, OT rate : £18.75

    • Standard working week : 37 hours

    About You :

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance is preferred, especially if within a local council.
  • Experience working with power tools.
