Job descriptionThe applicant must have attained the P401 qualification and, at the same time, must have significant experience working within this role in a laboratory / office environment and within the asbestos field. Awareness of the requirements of the second edition of HSG248 is desirable. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have good organisational and IT skills. Must have a full UK driving licence and vehicle due to location, or alternative means of transport. Experience in quality checking of asbestos survey reports is desirable but full training can also be provided. PA Group UK Ltd a highly respectable and growing asbestos company, forming part of the RSK Group , we are now looking for a tenacious and focused full-time, permanent Laboratory Analyst and Quality Checker to join our busy laboratory based in Dartford, UK.
Main responsibilities / duties :
- Receiving and appropriately logging samples received by the laboratory.
- Preparing samples for analysis.
- Carrying out analysis of samples for fibre content.
- Reporting analytical findings.
- Ensuring appropriate storage and retention of samples.
- Generating certificates of analysis and issuing to clients, and getting involved with other general laboratory and administrative duties.
- Quality checking asbestos survey reports.
