Strategic Account Director – Law Firms

Role Purpose / Summary :

Reporting to the Strategic Sales Manager, this is an exciting opportunity to join the Strategic Sales team. You will be responsible for some of the UK’s Top 60 Strategic Law Firm delivering exceptional customer service that demonstrates value to the customer and provides growth to our business.

This is a key role within the sales organisation that requires entrepreneurship and enthusiasm. You will need to identify key stakeholders within each client and build strong long-term partnerships with them. Working closely with internal teams you will need a collaborative focus to ensure we meet changing customer expectations. You will be responsible for your own territory and should use structured Account Planning methods to set goals and detail how you will achieve them.

About The Role :

  • Deep understanding of the firm’s business strategy and objectives to inform the direction of Thomson Reuters and ensure we align to our capabilities effectively
  • Responsibility for the long term strategic goal of the customer with Thomson Reuters
  • Align collective resources of Thomson Reuters to build long-term business relationships, grow revenue, drive retention and increase the Thomson Reuters footprint
  • Collaborate effectively across Thomson Reuters to develop the account strategy for each assigned firm, agree on prioritisation of opportunities with relevant sales and account management colleagues and take responsibility for driving progress on the account strategy within the firm, coordinating relevant touchpoints and acting as the point of coordination across Thomson Reuters
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills focusing on the Thomson Reuters value proposition, identify opportunities to create needs and competitive solutions
  • Act as senior escalation point for customers and internal account teams as necessary
  • Build and leverage executive level relationship to drive engagement and strategic alignment with Thomson Reuters
  • Develop and create client specific global account strategy and account plans
  • Keep accurate records in Salesforce
  • Ensure the right connections between Thomson Reuters and the customers exist at all levels by bringing the relevant stakeholders from each organisation together into strategic meetings
  • Meet and exceed all performance goals
  • Build trusted adviser relationships with executives and decision makers at assigned firms; responsible for creating win-win solutions and outcomes to further customer engagement and loyalty
  • Build credibility through strong understanding of the firm’s strategy and identify and create solutions to address those needs

About You

The key areas we will be looking for evidence of continued exposure, ability and success include :

  • Experience and success of working in a Strategic Account Management role
  • Strategic partnering, network building and client management
  • High level C Suite negotiation skills and opportunity creation leading to solution delivery
  • Experience of managing high value portfolios of clients and services
  • Proven success at retention, up selling and cross selling for complex, online / software products
  • Experience and success of managing complex, high level client relationships
  • Knowledge & Experience of legal industry & market network
