Workshop Operative

Position : Workshop OperativeLocation : Norwich, NorfolkHours : Basic hours 8 : 30 am – 5 : 00 pm (Mon-Fri) / 7 : 00 am – 6 : 00 pm (seasonal variations apply)The RoleAs a Workshop Operative, you will be responsible for assisting with or completing the construction, production, and assembly of cases and related products using a variety of hand and power tools. You will work closely with our Workshop Manager and other team members to ensure high-quality production and adherence to company standards.Key Responsibilities : Assist with or complete the construction and assembly of cases using hand and power tools.Fabricate and assemble sub-assemblies to support the timely completion of complex products.Liaise with the Workshop Manager to implement work schedules and meet deadlines.Maintain high-quality production standards and report any issues promptly.Continuously develop skills to maximise efficiency in workshop operations.Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment.Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to improve product quality and efficiency.What We’re Looking For : A methodical and logical approach to work with a strong technical aptitude.Well-organised and able to work under pressure during busy periods.Adaptable, reliable, and a strong team player.Self-driven with a positive outlook and a focus on delivering high-quality results.Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions effectively.Required Skills & Experience : Practical experience using hand and power tools.Ability to understand basic engineering drawings, methods, and terminology.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Good numeracy and literacy skills, including basic material calculations.Additional Requirements : Flexible approach to working hours, with availability to work extended hours during peak seasons (December – March).Clean or near-clean driving licence preferred.Why Join Us?Opportunity to work in a well-established and growing company.Hands-on role with a variety of tasks to develop your technical skills.Supportive team environment with opportunities for skill development.Competitive salary package and benefits.If you have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for high-quality craftsmanship, we’d love to hear from you!
