Full time / permanent

The Computer Science Department of our High School Academy is looking for an enthusiastic and capable Computer Science / ICT teacher to deliver Computer Science and IT, across all Key Stages. Our department is well resourced, friendly and dedicated to providing a first-class learning experience we can for all our learners. The departments' results have been excellent across GCSE, A-level and Vocational courses.

At KS3 we provide ICT and Computer Science theory to provide life skills for all learners and prepare others for a future in ICT or Computer Science. At KS4 we offer GCSE Computer Science and Cambridge Nationals in Information Technologies. At KS5 we offer A-Level Computer Science and BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Information Technology.

The successful candidate would be : -

  • knowledgeable in Computer Science and ICT,
  • capable of delivering effective lessons to all learners in a class,
  • adaptable enough to deliver a broad range of topics
  • have the enthusiasm and drive to develop as a professional.
  • be able to communicate effectively with learners of all abilities and backgrounds

Qualification Criteria

  • Qualified to degree level and above in the relevant subject.
  • Qualified to teach in the UK, PCGE, or similar.

    • Experience

  • Teachers of all levels of experience including ECTs are welcome to apply for general teacher posts.

    • Teaching and Learning

  • Excellent classroom practitioner (whose lessons are rated as good or above consistently).
  • Effective and systematic behaviour management, with clear boundaries, sanctions, praise and rewards.
  • Has good communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrates resilience, motivation and commitment to driving standards of achievement.
  • Commitment to regular and on-going professional development and training to establish outstanding classroom practice.
  • Has a passion for teaching.
  • Results orientated.
  • Relentless drive to do whatever it takes to ensure all students succeed.
  • The courage and conviction to make a difference.
