Job description

Bennett and Game are currently working with a leading civil engineering contractor covering the Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber areas. With only the best quality and time efficiency in mind, their expertise covers many forms of civil engineering, Remediation, Roads & Sewers, Retaining Structures, Plot Works & External Finishing.

Our client is looking for a full-time Quantity Surveyor to join their successful Commercial Team at their head office in Stockton. A competitive, market driven package will be offered to right candidate.

Quantity Surveyor Position Remuneration

Position Overview :

  • Assist with takeoff and pricing of tender packages as needed
  • Ensure timely completion of monthly applications with accuracy
  • Verify client payments against applications and report debtors' position to the Commercial Director
  • Manage subcontract packages including labour and plant gangs on site
  • Provide monthly financial reports to commercial leads
  • Price, negotiate, and agree on contractual variations with clients
  • Manage multiple schemes simultaneously
  • Attend site meetings and collaborate closely with project team
  • Provide development and support to other Commercial team members

    • Position Requirements :

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant Cost / Commercial discipline
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in IT, especially Excel and Bluebeam
  • Sound commercial acumen to manage high workload under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure, take initiative, and be accountable
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Experience in tender pricing and contract variations
  • Valid driving license
