Annual Salary : £30,722.74 to £37,059.78 (full-time)
Location : HMP Brixton and HMP Wandsworth
Job Type : Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to join our educational team within offender learning at HMP Thameside. This role offers the chance to deliver a transformative educational experience, significantly impacting learners' lives and aiding their personal development.

Day-to-day of the role :

Deliver inspiring lessons in Functional Skills English or Maths, raising learners' expectations and aspirations.

Tailor both accredited and non-accredited programmes to the needs and interests of the learners.

Develop personalised learning plans that equip learners with essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours for positive progression.

Create an engaging and supportive learning environment that promotes academic and personal growth.

Assess learners' progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and guidance.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Minimum Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 9 to 4, A

to C, or equivalent).

Qualification in the specialist subject area of Functional Skills English or Maths.

Proven effectiveness in teaching within the subject specialism.

Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent.

Ability to secure and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
