Contract Type : Full time, Monday to Friday - 8 : 30am to 3 : 30pm

GSL Education is seeking a dynamic and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in primary schools in Sheffield .

Job Summary :

Are you a passionate and experienced educator looking to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our primary schools in Sheffield starting in September 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in the classroom and support the academic and personal development of our students.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist the classroom teacher with lesson planning and delivery.
  • Lead small group interventions and support sessions.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Support the teacher with assessment and record-keeping.
  • Foster positive social interactions and model appropriate behaviour.
  • Work with teachers to develop and implement individualised learning plans for students who require additional support.

Requirements :

  • Relevant experience or qualifications as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) .
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that the successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
