Job description

Due to business growth, my client, based in Ipswich, Suffolk, has an immediate requirement for a Field Service Engineer to join their existing team. The successful Field Service Engineer must have a strong multi-skilled engineering background with experience working on compressed air systems, fans, motors, and pumps. The candidate will also spend 1 week a month working in the manufacturing workshop.

Please note, this role covers locations across the UK, requiring overnight stays Monday to Friday, so flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities :

  • Travel to customer sites across the UK to service and maintain electromechanical equipment.
  • Attend customer sites to perform fault finding, servicing, maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure work complies with health, safety, and quality standards.

Requirements :

  • Relevant recognised engineering qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering, minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent (ideally electrical NVQ Level 3).
  • 18th Edition wiring regulations – advantageous.
  • Experience with PLCs and 3-phase motors – preferred.
  • Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Flexibility to be away overnight from Monday to Friday.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
