Job Overview

You will be capable of undertaking the design and lead the implementation of data flows to connect operational systems within our business and underpin our data and science products. You will understand the concept of a data product and what that means for the data flows you build and the selection of appropriate technologies with guidance from more senior engineers. You will also have a good understanding of agile product and engineering processes and metrics. To succeed in this role, you should be able to combine data from multiple data sources, some external and both structured.

• Recognise opportunities to reuse existing data flows.
• Lead the build of data processing and streaming systems.
• Optimise code to ensure processes perform efficiently.
• Lead work on data storage and database management.
• Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, facilitating discussions and managing diverse viewpoints.
• Apply statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and model validation techniques to derive accurate insights from data.
• Use a variety of scientific tools and metrics to evaluate data science models and solutions effectively.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure clean, well-prepared data and scalable data infrastructure.
• Stay curious and continuously explore new data science techniques and innovations, including AI / ML model development.
• Translate complex analysis into impactful visualisations and narratives that support user needs and business objectives.
• Demonstrate practical expertise in machine learning, reporting, and dashboard creation to deliver business value.
• Practice ethical data science, stay informed on compliance standards, and escalate concerns when needed.
• Adapt to different product delivery methods and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Write and test code, work with shared codebases, and collaborate using modern programming practices.
