Senior Safeguarding Consultant

Full Time | 37.5 hrs / week | Remote (UK travel required)

DOE + Car Allowance | Driving Licence Essential

Overview

Support the Head of Safeguarding in delivering the safeguarding strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance and a child-first approach. Provide expert advice on complex safeguarding issues and manage significant incidents across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Head of Safeguarding and support strategic objectives.
  • Lead on complex safeguarding cases, liaising with regulators, local authorities, and police.
  • Oversee investigations, assess risk, and recommend safeguarding improvements.
  • Attend external safeguarding meetings and ensure follow-up actions.
  • Build strong partnerships with external agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify trends and drive continuous improvement in safeguarding practices.
  • Support safer recruitment and staff guidance on safeguarding matters.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Background as a LADO or Social Worker with senior safeguarding experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Early Years safeguarding legislation.
  • Strong risk assessment, analytical, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex investigations and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and team leadership skills.
  • Qualifications

  • Relevant safeguarding / child protection qualification.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Personal Attributes

  • Motivated, calm under pressure, and highly organised.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Passionate about child welfare and committed to continuous improvement.
