Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our enthusiastic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, preparing them for their GCSEs and fostering a love for literature and language. You will be instrumental in helping students develop critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that meet the diverse needs of our students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and participate in departmental meetings and activities.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and well-being.
  • Engage with parents and carers to support students’ academic and personal development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching English at secondary school level, with a track record of achieving excellent student outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for teaching and learning.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
