You will also work with cross functional engineering team and product manager to undertake wide range of tasks, including PCB design, microcontroller selection, electronic component level obsolescence and lifecycle management.

As a Controls Application Engineer, you will be responsible for :

• Designing and development of PRISMIC excitation controllers (including rectifiers and electronic design)
• Supporting new design, upgrade and optimise power management system electronics, including I / O modules, controller, watchdog, and monitoring systems
• Selecting microcontrollers that satisfy product requirements, considering factors like processing power, memory, compatibility, life cycle, and compliance
• Design, configuration, and testing of communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, CAN, IEC60870-5-104, IEC61850, NTP, Syslog, etc based on product requirements
• Develop, prototype, and oversee PCB (Printed Circuit Board) design, layout, and assembly for electronic components, considering factors such as signal integrity, thermal management, EMC, and reliability as part of development / program management
• Proactively identify components or technologies approaching obsolescence and develop strategies for component replacement or redesign to ensure the longevity of our PRISMIC components
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and repairing of functional units from site / under test.
• Develop testing protocols and perform rigorous testing and validation of electronics and system components to ensure they are compatible with entire control system, satisfy performance, environment and reliability standards
• Create clear and comprehensive design documentation, including interface specifications, style guides, and user documentation
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, control engineers, and system engineers, to deliver integrated solutions
