Salary : £60,000 - £70,000 per annum

Role Overview

Are you an SRE with a background in Python development? A rapidly growing marketing agency has just received the funding it needs to scale the team and make the move into the cloud. To do that, they need an SRE to play a pivotal role in shaping this infrastructure and automation processes.

Location

This role is based in Swansea, requiring candidates to be onsite twice a week as the engineering team are all based in Wales and meet up regularly in the office.

About the Role

As an SRE, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the cloud infrastructure on AWS. You'll collaborate closely with the development team, ideally utilising your experience in Python to build robust and scalable solutions. Additionally, you'll automate deployment processes, ensuring efficient and streamlined workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS using services like EC2, ELB, RDS, and more.
  • Develop and maintain IaC lines for seamless and automated deployments.
  • Contribute to Python-based development projects, ensuring high-quality code and best practices.
  • Monitor and optimise system performance, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address their infrastructure needs.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience as a DevOps engineer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python development.
  • Expertise in AWS services and cloud infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with CI / CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Understanding of containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
