Job description

Job summary

We are looking for a GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Technician led Inpatient Dispensary Team. You will be supporting the Dispensary Manager in the management, co-ordination and delivery of our Inpatient Dispensing Services. This varied role is an excellent opportunity to build on your skills, increasing your knowledge and understanding of all aspects of delivering this core Pharmacy service. We are looking for a Band 4 / 5 Pharmacy Technician with an ACPT qualification, but will consider Pharmacy Technicians with relevant experience who can work towards gaining an ACPT qualification.

We welcome applications from Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians completing their qualification imminently, entry level will be band 4.

Main duties of the job

The Dispensary Specialist Technician supports the Dispensary Manager in the management, co-ordination and delivery of the Inpatient Dispensary service.

All duties in accordance with Trust and Departmental policies and procedures.

To undertake appropriate post-qualification studies as required.

Band 4 : £26,530 to £29,114 pro rata

Band 5 : £29,970 to £36,483 pro rata

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Checking accreditation, one or all of : Accredited Checking Technician (National Framework), Medicines Management Accreditation (CMMPT or national equivalent), Preparative Services Checking Accreditation Note - candidates without checking accreditation are eligible for Band
  • Basic Computer Literacy (Word, Excel)
  • oMinimum qualification NVQ3 Pharmacy Services, BTEC Pharmaceutical Science or CGLI / Apothecaries Hall pre 1985 certificates

Experience

Essential

  • Recent hospital or community pharmacy dispensing or relevant specialist experience
  • Recent dispensing or aseptics experience
  • Desirable

  • Supervision of other staff grades
