ABOUT THE ROLE

As Pre-construction Manager you will be responsible for managing tender opportunities from the early days of qualification right through to contract award. You will report to the pre-construction director. As Pre-construction Managers you will be involved in all aspects of our tender submission and must have a full comprehensive understanding of the client’s requirements to ensure our bid is as closely aligned with those requirements as possible.

You will have a full understanding of all commercial considerations, risk, management, strategy development, and value proposition amongst other non-negotiables while also having a strong understanding of the fit-out process and procedures for both architectural and services disciplines, ideally from site-based project management roles. You will work closely with the Estimating, Project Services Management, Sustainability, and H&S teams to ensure the bid covers variables in detail. You will have good attention to detail to undertake extensive client research to ensure there is a full understanding of client’s business ethos and ways of working. You will have good organisational skills and you will be required to bring together all relevant parties when required to discuss strategy and make bids as comprehensive as possible.

You will also be required to attend site to gain a full understanding of the potential project requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Comprehensive grasp of the commercial fit-out sector and various trade disciplines, likely honed through extensive experience in on-site project management.
  • Proficient understanding of the bidding process and strategies crucial for securing projects.
  • Skilled copywriting capabilities, ideally coupled with proficiency in relevant Adobe Creative Suite tools, particularly InDesign, and Asta Powerproject programming software.
  • Capacity to develop precise and well-considered tender stage schedules.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Exceptional communication and administrative proficiencies.
  • Preferred, though not mandatory, prior involvement in bid / tender management roles.
  • Ability to self-assess work and produce error-free documentation within tight deadlines, often while simultaneously managing multiple bids.
  • Strong teamwork skills and adeptness in communication.

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

My client is paying a salary between £80k – £100k depending on experience. Alongside this, my client offers a competitive package which will be outlined at the interview stage.
