Nottingham (Midlands Region) | Hybrid Working

Our client, the government-owned company responsible for managing England’s motorways and major A roads, is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join their Midlands Asset Management team.

Based in their Nottingham office with flexible working (office / site / home), this is a key role supporting the planning, design, and delivery of improvements and renewals across the region’s street lighting and electrical infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Working On :

You’ll help manage a wide range of electrical assets - from feeder pillars and lighting columns to illuminated signage, bollards, and subway lighting - all fed by a complex private cable network.

Your responsibilities will include :

  • Developing feasibility studies and early-stage designs for asset renewals or enhancements.
  • Preparing and reviewing documentation and evidence to support value management and option selection.
  • Managing survey briefs and technical requirements for third-party design contractors.
  • Supporting the development of safe, cost-effective, and buildable asset management solutions.
  • Ensuring all work aligns with health, safety, and wellbeing standards for both customers and employees.

What We’re Looking For :

  • Degree, HND, or HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong experience in the design, inspection, and management of electrical and lighting assets.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and cable calculation software.
  • Good working knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
  • A full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points (essential, due to site travel requirements).
  • Why Join?

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the future of national transport infrastructure, helping to maintain and improve the safety and reliability of England’s roads.

You'll work within a supportive and expert team, with real opportunities to develop and apply your technical expertise.

Apply now to join a team delivering essential infrastructure for millions of road users every day.
