Responsibilities

Role Profile

As General Manager you will lead your team to create positive, memorable experiences for our residents while ensuring that properties meet operational, financial, and business performance goals. You will champion and execute company strategies related to property management operations, driving improvement and operational excellence.

  • Lead and provide forward-thinking direction for regional teams in each student accommodation location.
  • Ensure operational, financial, and other objectives are met.
  • Exceed fund and asset management expectations by delivering budgets and identifying actions to maintain and improve effectiveness and service levels.
  • Develop and nurture new and existing business relationships within both the private and academic sectors.
  • Develop and execute the sales strategy alongside the marketing department, ensuring all sites achieve full occupancy.
  • Propose annual rents to achieve full occupancy and drive bottom-line performance.
  • Place the customer at the heart of decision-making, ensuring practices are aligned with customer needs.
  • Lead the team to create positive, memorable experiences by exceeding expectations for all residents.
  • Be an expert in leasing performance, attending routine calls / meetings prepared to discuss performance.
  • Ensure the physical appearance of properties is of the highest standard with your teams.
  • Work with relevant teams to agree on improvements, changes, or fixes to properties.
  • Coordinate with external H&S authorities to stay updated on new guidelines and best practice

Qualifications

Person Specification

This role would suit someone with an approachable yet professional, responsive, and dedicated manner with a good level of general education, strong written and numeric skills, and excellent communication skills at all levels. You should have a great knowledge and understanding of operations management with the ability to implement it effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and experience using property management software are essential.
