Key Responsibilities :
Curriculum Delivery : Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that cover a range of art and design disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and design.
Student Development : Foster a supportive and challenging environment where students feel confident to express their creativity and develop their technical skills.
Assessment : Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
Exhibitions and Projects : Organise student art exhibitions and participate in school-wide projects and events.
Professional Development : Stay current with contemporary art practices and pedagogical methods through continuous professional development.
Classroom Management : Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning and creativity.
Collaboration : Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the art department and contribute to cross-curricular projects.
Qualifications and Skills
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Art, Design, or a related field; teaching qualification (PGCE / QTS or equivalent) is essential.
Experience : Previous experience teaching art and design at the secondary level is preferred.
Artistic Skills : Proficiency in a variety of artistic mediums and techniques.
Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Creativity : Ability to inspire and motivate students with engaging and innovative teaching methods.
Organisational Skills : Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
