Python Quant Developer – Systematic Equities Team

800-£900 / day inside IR35 | 6-month rolling contract | Hybrid (3 days in office)

A major financial player is looking for a Python Quant Developer to support one of their systematic equities investment teams. This is a hands-on role sitting within the technology function, working closely with the front office on quant analytics and data-driven investment models.

You’ll be focused on enhancing and maintaining the core analytics platform – handling everything from integrating new MSCI data sets to optimising complex calculations used in portfolio construction and alpha generation.

Key responsibilities :

Work with MSCI and other structured data feeds – identify gaps, map schema changes, and ensure accurate downstream calculations
Translate investment logic into efficient, production-grade Python code
Optimise performance of existing quant models and analytics
Manage and enhance data workflows – Snowflake, AWS, Python
Liaise daily with investment professionals to understand requirements and deliver solutions

What we’re looking for :

Strong Python developer with deep experience using statistical and numerical libraries (NumPy, pandas, SciPy etc.)

Proven experience supporting quant or systematic investment strategies

Good understanding of infrastructure – ideally AWS and Snowflake – and willingness to own setup and tooling

Comfortable working in fast-paced front office environments with direct exposure to the investment team

Detail-oriented, pragmatic, and able to work independently

Initial 6-month contract with long-term scope. Hybrid working model (3 days in the office). Up to £900 / day, may be some flex for top end candidates.
