NES Fircroft have been retained by a fast-growth Industrial Manufacturing company, based in the UK, who are selling a highly innovative range of products into an emerging market sector. They are seeking a Lead Process Engineer to take ownership of one part of their manufacturing process as a subject matter expert.
The Lead Process Engineer will be responsible for developing the roadmap for the development and optimisation of this production process, including review of existing operations, projects to optimise and improve performance, and importantly assessing the need for new equipment & technology, and managing those CAPEX projects through from concept to installation & successful operation. This is an area of significant innovation, so you will also be the bridge between R&D and Operations, to ensure that new products are industrialised and mass produced efficiently and profitably.
For someone looking for a role focused on minor improvements to a well-established, existing way of working, this will not be the right position. Coming into this role, the Lead Process Engineer will have a huge amount of freedom and opportunity to create something new, very much from the ground up. If that sounds exciting, this could be a brilliant opportunity.
From a technical perspective, the processes involved are electroplating, resistance welding, chemical etching, and surface preparation / treatment. If you have strong knowledge in one or more of those areas - or a similar chemical engineering process - we would be keen to have a conversation.
Apart from that, we are looking for demonstrable experience in a Process Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer position, with exposure to process creation, optimisation projects and the implementation of CAPEX initiatives from concept through to launch. Strong communication skills and a desire to drive change are also key.
In return, there is a competitive salary & benefits package, and a very tangible pathway towards a people leadership role in the medium-term.
