CAD / CAM Engineer

Wednesbury

Permanent

27,000 – £30,000 depending upon experience

Our client a steel stockholder based in the Wednesbury area is currently recruiting for a production supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. The right candidate will produce high-quality 3D models and accompanying technical drawings and CNC files. Providing sound technical support, knowledge and estimations to the sales department.

  • Hours of work : Monday to Thursday 08 : 00 – 16 : 30 and Friday 08 : 00 – 16 : 00

Key responsibilities of the role :

  • Create 3D models and accompanying technical drawings
  • Working with production documentation and interpreting customer instruction
  • Offline programming
  • Provide timings for the sales department
  • Quality checking own work
  • Amend existing parts
  • Dealing directly with customers when required
  • Maintain Drawing Office Standards

    • The successful candidate :

  • Proven ability to use SolidWorks (or similar 3D package)
  • Experience with Artube programming package advantageous
  • Experience with TruTops / Trumpf design and programming package would be advantageous
  • Tube Laser, flat bed laser, punch press programming experience is desirable
  • Experience with Radan, Dr Abe, AutoCAD would be desirable
  • Proven ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings
  • Proven ability to use measuring equipment
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent level of attention to detail
  • Eager and willing to learn new skills
  • Customer service focused
  • Able to communicate well at all levels both written and verbally.
