Job Title : Theatre Practitioner

Contract Type : Bank

Rate : 32 per hour

We are looking for flexible Theatre Practitioners to join our bank as we continue to expand throughout the UK!

About the Role

The key responsibilities of the Theatre Practitioner will be to focus on patient centric care participating in the entire pathways for all patients from pre-admission surgery and post-operative management.

You will be an experienced Theatre Practitioner undertaking preoperative assessment diagnostics testing and theatre scrub under AfPP good practice guidance.

We are looking for someone who can :

  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing support to patients friends and families
  • Prepare clinical areas for clinical activities
  • Assist surgeons in the delivery of ophthalmic care
  • Admission and discharge of patients
  • Participate in departmental audits
  • Pro-active and keen to learn and have a passion to deliver quality care
  • Have effective listening communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thrives in a team environment

To be successful in this role you will need :

  • Previous theatre experience is required. Ophthalmic scrub experience is preferred but not essential as full training is available for suitably qualified RGNs / ODPs with at least 2 years post qualification clinical experience in a secondary care setting or similar.
  • Evidence of relevant professional development clinically preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration / ODP with valid HCPC Registration
  • Up-to-date knowledge in area of practice.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC including the use of software and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for delivering first- rate patient safety and care
