Senior PHP Developer

Remote with a Monthly Team Day (Expenses Paid)

West Yorkshire HQ

Up to £60,000

If you love a challenge and enjoy solving complex problems this role could be an ideal match. The team is looking for a Senior / Lead PHP developer to join them, someone who is hands-on but comfortable being a first point of contact for less experienced engineers.

You will have :

  • Strong, commercial experience with PHP and Object-Oriented

Programming (OOP).

  • Good experience working with Symfony or Laravel and bespoke MVC frameworks
  • A solid understanding of automated testing practices.
  • Expertise in performant MySQL and relational database design.
  • Hands-on experience with API design and development.
  • Be familiar with Agile methodologies
  • A great communicator who can hit the ground running with new projects
  • A positive attitude and the desire to lead

    • You should be comfortable with :

  • Scaling PHP / MySQL platforms to handle growth and performance

    • demands.

  • Working with Laravel to build robust and maintainable applications.
  • Using modern tooling, including Docker, Git, PHPStan, PHPUnit,

    • and CD / CI pipelines.

  • Writing well-structured HTML and CSS.

    • Development & Problem Solving :

  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code across a variety

    • of projects.

  • Collaborate with the team to deliver software solutions that

    • meet client requirements.

  • Proactively address technical challenges during development,

    • contributing effective and practical solutions.

  • Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and

    • adherence to best practices.

    Some of the projects in the pipeline include helping to scale a global white-label platform and launching a new IoT data service.

    The company is based in West Yorkshire, UK, but the team is happy for you to work remotely most of the year, with monthly team meetings to aid collaboration.

    You must be UK based and have full right to work in the UK to qualify for this role.
