Overview

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality Consultant on behalf of one of our clients.

Typical working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Carrying out occupational aerosol (dust, fibre, VOC etc.) and gas exposure monitoring assessments at a wide variety of interesting sites.
Preparing interpretative reports, referring to HSE guidance and COSHH EH40, interpretation of monitoring results and observations and making recommendations for improving controls.
Assisting with initial enquiries, reviewing MSDS information and preparing quotations.

Skills and Qualifications :

The role requires a mix of office and site-based work, so you must have a full UK driving license.

Ideally 1-2 years previous relevant client facing experience.

Existing membership of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) and knowledge of HSE monitoring methodology, COSHH EH40 and other IAQ guidelines would be advantageous.

GCSE’s (or equivalent) in maths, science and English and a relevant degree (minimum 2 : 1 BSc / BEng or MSc), such as Occupational Hygiene or Environmental Science is preferable.

Attention to detail is essential in this role, as are excellent customer service / communication skills.
