- Permanent
We are looking to employ a full-time person, for immediate start, to assist us at Woodside Arran CIC, our social enterprise farm in Kildonan on the Isle of Arran. Only 50 minutes by train from Glasgow, Arran offers all the benefits of Island life but with easy access and transport links to the mainland.
The position is a one-year contract, which will hopefully continue on to a permanent position. The job will involve :
- Growing, harvesting, and delivering vegetables (for our CSA, local authority procurement contract, and automated vending machine).
- Animal husbandry (laying hens and pigs).
- Tree planting.
- Basic construction work (assisting with our mobile sawmill, tiny home construction, and general infrastructure such as fencing).
This role would ideally suit someone who has at least one growing season behind them; however, full training will be given, so only a willingness to learn and take on a challenge, in any weather, is necessary. A driving licence would be beneficial but not essential.
Due to the position being partially funded, you must be a graduate (within the last four years) of at least an HNC or higher qualification; however, any age group can apply. The position is mainly Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work, offering a salary of £21,000 PA. Shared accommodation in a quiet new build rural property near the farm is available.
More details about the farm can be found at Woodside Arran .
