Location : Twickenham
Contract : 4 Year Apprenticeship
Salary : £15,700 in Year 1, progressing each year to £25,000 in Year 4 (subject to satisfactory performance)
The Briggs Equipment Group are a leading provider of asset management and maintenance solutions across the UK and Ireland. The Briggs Equipment Group 4-year Apprentice Engineer training programme gives you the opportunity to become a fully qualified Forklift Truck & Powered Access Engineer. Briggs Equipment Group Engineers fault find, maintain, service and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, located within an ever-growing range of Materials Handling and Powered Access Equipment.
What will you be doing as an Engineer Apprentice :
- Years 1 to 3 you will complete the 3-year apprenticeship qualification : Level 3 Lift Truck and Powered Access Engineering Technician Apprenticeship standard.
- You will gain on-the-job experience, starting with shadowing your mentor and other Engineers, progressing to performing tasks under supervision, then alongside qualified Engineers where your work will be checked and signed off. Year 4 is an ‘Improver’ year, where once you have achieved your apprenticeship qualification you will gain independent on-the-job practical experience, and undertake further internal training, to make the transition to become a fully-qualified Engineer upon successful completion of the programme.
- Work will be carried out on customer’s premises and at Briggs Equipment Group workshop locations within your specified region.
Upon successful completion of the 4-year programme and subject to satisfactory performance, you will be considered for a permanent contract as a fully qualified Engineer with starting salary expectations c.£30k+ dependent on location.

Please note :
Apprentice Engineers will ordinarily need to obtain a full UK Driving Licence by the end of the 3rd year of their programme, to be considered for a permanent contract as a fully qualified Engineer. It is the responsibility of the apprentice to make their own way to and from their place of work.
