Job description
White Label is exclusively representing an engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield that require a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.My client is going through a period of growth and expansion and as a result they require an experienced engineer with experience in Crane, Lifting Equipment, Mechanical Handling or similar.Package on offer for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
- Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience
- Hours : Monday to Friday 8 : 30am – 5pm (can be flexible)
- Holiday Entitlement : 31 days including stats

- OvertimeDuties of the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
- Understanding project / client briefs, through site visits or from drawings.
- To competently propose a lifting / mechanical handling solution and or produce a bespoke solution to meet the needs of the client and project needs.
- Ability to quote and liaise with the customer.
- Ability to design lifting equipment (lifting beams, light crane systems, etc) using 2D AUTO CAD (3D is preferred but not essential).
- Produce relevant engineering calculations needed to design the product.
- Ability to work with our mechanical handling and lifting design team.
- To project manage all work issued to the shop floor and work with our works manager to meet client deadlines.
- Willingness to be a part of an ever-growing team and to work with our automotive business as well as our lifting business.Experience required of the Senior Mechancal Design Engineer
- 2D AUTOCAD (3D experience would be preferred but not essential).
- Manufacturing design environment experience.
- Designing lifting beams, swing jibs, crane systems and other lifting products or mechanical handling experience.
- Producing calculations for designed products.
