1 : 1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Harborne, Birmingham

Monarch Education are currently working alongside a Primary School in the Harborne area of Birmingham. This role will involve working on a 1 : 1 basis with a pupil in Y4 who is Non-Verbal, it is important that you have experience working with children who have non verbal needs to be considered for this role. This role is full-time and ongoing until at least July 2025.

Requirements of applicant :

n \n

  • UK Level 3 Minimum Qualification in Childcare, Education or SEND
  • Sound knowledge of the Primary and SEND National Curriculum's
  • Experienced working with children who have Non-Verbal Needs
  • Confident and experienced supporting children of all ages and abilities

Main Duties and Responsibilities :

n \n

  • Working on a 1 : 1 basis with a pupil who has Non-Verbal Needs
  • Communicate with the pupil in their preferred method of communication
  • Create a safe and interesting learning environment for the pupil, where they feel safe
  • Look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare
  • Provide regular feedback to parents and senior staff on the progress of the pupil
  • Follow policies and procedures in line with safeguarding and child protection guidelines
