Job Description
Job Description This is a fixed term post until 26 / 06 / 2025\n This is a term-time part time post and the salary will be pro-rata to the number of hours worked.\n A vacancy has arisen in Gartocharn Primary School. The post holder will require to assist in the day today operational requirements of the catering service within this premise as required.\n Duties will include assisting in basic food preparation and service of all foods in compliance with the Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drinks in schools (Scotland) regulations 2008, compliance with all the relevant legislation as required and setting up / clearing away equipment for food service. The post holder’s duties will include general cleaning to a high standard including crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils, kitchen and dining room areas, staff rest room and toilets.\n The post holder will require to adhere to Food Safety System, Safe Systems of work and Health and Safety Legislation. Knowledge of such legislations would be an advantage as would previous experience in this type of work.\n The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Applicants will be asked to select their preference according to their availability. Please note that whilst some degree of flexibility in working maybe considered the core cleaning times are as statedRequirements This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.Responsibilities The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.\n Applicants are, therefore, not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are "spent" under the provisions of the Act.
