Lecturer in Japanese Studies (Teaching & Research)
Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out cutting-edge teaching and research in Japanese Studies? Do you have an excellent research record and a potential for establishing an international research reputation? Are you passionate about delivering an exceptional student experience in a Russell Group University?
As a Lecturer in Japanese Studies (with a disciplinary background in International Relations and Politics), you will carry out teaching and research that contributes to our existing strengths in East Asian Studies and in the School more broadly. You will have a PhD in Japanese Studies (or cognate discipline) and you will teach across our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, with a particular focus on Japan’s International Relations, East Asian politics and international relations, and Advanced Japanese Language in Context. You will also pursue a research agenda that builds on your achievements to date and that contributes to the School’s reputation for high quality and innovative research. You will be expected to contribute to the effective management of the School, Faculty and wider University by undertaking appropriate administrative duties.
