Job Overview :
We are seeking a skilled Unix System Administrator to join an IT infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Unix-based systems and servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support infrastructure needs and provide technical expertise to end-users.
Key Responsibilities :
System Management :
- Install, configure, and maintain Unix / Linux-based systems and servers.
- Monitor system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and security updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
Security & Compliance :
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions.Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.Collaboration & Support :
Work closely with network, applications, and other IT teams to support infrastructure.Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and IT staff.Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.Qualifications & Skills :
Must-Have :
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.Proven experience as a Unix / Linux System Administrator or similar role.Strong knowledge of Unix / Linux OS and command-line tools.Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.Basic understanding of network protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP).Nice-to-Have :
