Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive
The Role
To join the expanding private client department as a fee earner, the successful candidate will be handling estate administration, will drafting, tax planning, creation & management of trusts and preparation of lasting powers of attorney. There are also opportunities to develop your career in legal services and progression within the firm.
Candidates must have knowledge of and provide advice in respect of the following :
- Administration of deceased estates, both taxable and non-taxable
- Drafting and preparation of both standard and complex wills, including wills that contain trusts for more complex situations, in particular, life interest trusts and discretionary trusts
- Knowledge of IHT and CGT and how those taxes have an impact on planning for private client situations
- Drafting and preparation of powers of attorney, LPAs, including registration of EPAs
- Deputyship applications to the Court of Protection
- Deeds of Variation
- Establishment and administration of trusts
- Supporting others in the department and working as a team
- Liaising with existing and new clients
- Involvement with business development activities in the firm
