As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will be supporting Space Engineering Services / Orwell Design Associates by managing and overseeing project design work for retail, commercial and industrial customers under the supervision of a senior engineer.
What you’ll be doing…
As an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer, you will be producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, and specifications for complete electrical packages, i.e. lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, and security systems, from concept to completion,Assisting with the coordination of electrical services with other disciplines,Survey and report on existing electrical installations and identify customer requirements,Provide electrical design details for new and refurbishment projects,Maintain a strong awareness of best practice, regulatory requirements - continuous CPD and learning opportunities,Communicate with contacts at all levels, and attend on-site meetings.What success looks like…

Previous experience in electrical building services design ,Preferably Electrical Design specific qualification (HNC, BEng),Good knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and working knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations,Familiarity with electrical design software, e.g. Amtech, Dialux, AutoCAD, Revit would be ideal but not essential,IT proficient – all relevant Microsoft packages,Have a strong interest in electrical engineering and an understanding of Building Services Engineering.Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time,Highly motivated and enthusiastic.Have the drive to improve and learn new skills.Approachable, open and able to work as part of a team.Commitment to quality and attention to detail.A values-driven approach – it’s not just what we do, but how we do it that’s important at Space.
