Our client is looking for an experienced Registered Manager for a newly registered 3-bedded Therapeutic Children's Home in Staffordshire, ST20.
They are a locally owned company led by a team who have been firmly established for over 25 years as an Outstanding provider of services for Children in our sister organisation. Country Homes For Children extends that quality of service to the Staffordshire region.
This is an opportunity for the right candidate to put their own mark on a new provision, setting the highest standards for recruitment, training, and service delivery. The home has been finished to a high standard and aims to provide high-quality therapeutic care for up to 3 young people aged between 9 and 17 years.
Are you the right person for the job?
- At least 2 years managerial experience in a childrens residential setting
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management in Childrens Residential Care (or willingness to complete)
- A full manual UK driving licence
- A deep understanding of therapeutic care and the Childrens Homes Regulations 2015
- A passion for supporting children and young people in a safe, nurturing environment
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- The ability to manage risk and work effectively with multi-agency teams
What will your role look like?
Providing effective leadership and management to ensure the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care aligned with the homes therapeutic ethosOverseeing all aspects of the homes daily operations, including staff deployment, rotas, casework, and safeguarding practicesSupporting, supervising, and developing the Deputy Manager and care team, ensuring they feel valued, equipped, and empowered in their rolesEnsuring that individual care plans, risk assessments, and behavioural support strategies are regularly reviewed and followedLeading by example to create a nurturing, structured, and safe environment that promotes positive relationships and developmental outcomesUpholding safeguarding standards and ensuring that all young people are protected from harm, with concerns responded to swiftly and effectivelyConducting regular audits, tracking compliance against the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards, and preparing for Ofsted inspectionsComplete Ofsted registration as the Registered Manager and maintain compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirementsActing as a key liaison with local authorities, external professionals, and families, maintaining strong working partnerships that support placement stability and successEnsuring the home environment is welcoming, clean, and maintained to a high standard, with an emphasis on homeliness and therapeutic valuePromoting participation and voice for young people in the homes operation, policies, and daily decisionsLeading recruitment processes for new team members, ensuring they align with the companys values and complete a robust safer recruitment processAttending and chairing staff meetings, case discussions, and reviews, providing structured feedback and promoting reflective practiceManaging budgets and resources effectively to ensure the home remains financially viable while meeting the needs of young peopleEnsuring all policies and procedures are understood, reviewed, and implemented, promoting consistency and regulatory compliance across the teamSupporting the homes contribution to local and company-wide initiatives, quality improvement, and staff development programsCompleting on-call / emergency point-of-contact responsibilities approximately 4 times a yearWhat can you expect in return?
