Job Title : Senior / Principal EICA Engineer – Water Sector

Location : Manchester (Hybrid – 2 days in-office)

About the Role :

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Senior or Principal Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (EICA) Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering team delivering key projects across the UK water sector.

You’ll play a central role in leading and delivering complex EICA designs as part of major infrastructure upgrades for leading UK water companies. From early feasibility and FEED stages through to commissioning and handover, this role offers full lifecycle project involvement.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead a small team of engineers and designers across multiple projects
  • Oversee and approve EICA designs and technical documentation
  • Liaise with clients, supply chain partners, and contractors
  • Support site surveys and site-based technical solutions (occasional travel to Southern Water region)
  • Ensure compliance with national and international codes, including WIMES and UKCA
  • Contribute to best practices and net-zero goals

Requirements :

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical, Electronic, or Control Engineering (or equivalent apprenticeship)
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or actively working towards this)
  • Significant experience in EICA design and delivery in the UK water sector
  • Strong knowledge of design practices, risk management, and safety regulations
  • Familiarity with CE / UKCA marking, ATEX, PED, and other relevant directives
  • Confident communicator and natural leader
