Support Pupils in a Leading Specialist School in Telford
We’re working with a well-regarded specialist school in Telford that supports around 400 students aged 2–19 with a wide range of complex needs, including moderate learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning disabilities, autism, physical challenges, and communication difficulties.
As part of a multi-academy trust, the school provides a carefully tailored curriculum and a focused sixth form, designed to meet each pupil’s developmental stage and help them engage and thrive.
The Role
Deliver 1 : 1 and small-group support based on EHCPs and individual learning plans
Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and care staff to deliver structured, pathway-based learning
Assist with communication, sensory and mobility support, personal care, and use of specialist equipment
Maintain a safe and supportive environment, helping with behaviour and emotional regulation
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting children or young people in specialist or high-needs settings
A calm, professional approach with strong organisational skills and attention to routine
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively across disciplines
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion
Desirable Skills & Experience
Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies, or similar methods
Training in moving and handling, Team Teach, or behaviour management protocols
Experience supporting pupils with medical or physical needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
