Your role and responsibilities

In the role of Project Supervisor you will actively support the Project Manager in the successful management and implementation of projects across the Service.

Your duties will include :

  • task management and supervision of Project Support Officers to provide advice and steer on project best practice and day to day running of projects
  • providing programme and project management support to those leading on SFRS programmes and priorities
  • working closely with project stakeholders across the organisation to bring about delivery of the project products
  • supporting the Programme Manager and the Project Managers in monitoring and collating PMO related information and reports.
  • You will need

  • Level 5 qualification in Project Management or proven equivalent experience.
  • High level of understanding of programme and project management methodologies and best practice.
  • Strong task management skills to effectively lead teams tackling complex and technical challenges.
  • To be organisedwith excellent interpersonal skills and is able to effectively communicate at a variety of levels.
  • Strong IT skills in Word Excel PowerPoint and project management software .
  • Work in a professional manner demonstrate integrity and promote Suffolk County Councils We Aspire values.
  • to be flexible able to stay calm in the face of competing pressures and complex organisational and system-wide issues and be able to implement solutions and initiatives at pace.

    The team

    The Project Management Office (PMO) play a pivotal role in SFRS and are key in understanding the resource requirements and priorities of the Service ensuring that the many projects either planned or in progress can be delivered effectively and efficiently. The PMO also provide the Service with assurance that project benefits have been realised and lead on lessons learned activities to ensure continuous improvement.
