Job description

Position type : Full-time, 40 hours per week, dayshift (Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm & Friday 7.30am - 1.30pm). Some nightshift work may be required (Monday - Thursday 9.30pm - 7.30am).

Location : Kilmarnock

Salary : £41,730 - £52,500 (with qualifying bars) plus overtime

Description

Brodie Engineering, a leading rolling stock engineering business, offers refurbishment, maintenance, overhaul, engineering support, project management, and repair services to the UK rail and light rail sector.

We operate from depots in Kilmarnock, Scotland, and provide mobile services across the UK and Ireland.

We are looking to recruit Electricians for ongoing rolling stock maintenance and overhaul projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Remove and refit electrical components.
  • Perform modifications to rolling stock according to work instructions and specifications.
  • Inspect, maintain, and test rolling stock systems per vehicle instructions.
  • Support fault-finding and diagnosis of rolling stock systems when required.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Complete paperwork and work instructions precisely.
  • Work effectively within the production team.
  • Follow all safety and mandatory requirements.
  • Promote Brodie Engineering’s behavioral expectations and support positive working relationships with colleagues, customers, and external agencies.
  • Comply with all company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Key Skills Required :

  • Experience in component removal and refit of electrical systems.
  • Proven fault-finding and diagnosis skills in electrical systems.
  • SVQ / NVQ Level 3 Electrical or dual-skilled qualification (or equivalent).
  • Minimum NC Electrical qualification (or equivalent).
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
  • Accurate record-keeping of actions and operations.
  • Proper care for tools, equipment, and PPE.
  • Methodical problem-solving approach with attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify problems and implement immediate resolutions under pressure.
  • Salary Scale : £41,730 - £52,500 (qualifying bars in place)
