Job Title : Senior Support Worker

Location : Near Oswestry, Shropshire

Hours : 12-hour shifts

Hourly Rate : £14.00 per hour

Paid Sleep-ins : £11.44 per hour

About The Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people in their journey towards independence. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support, ensuring the safety and well-being of the young people in our service, and promoting their personal development.

The role involves working on a rotating shift pattern with sleep-ins, so flexibility is essential. You will be part of a dedicated team, and we will provide full training and opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to young people in our care
  • Support young people with daily living tasks, budgeting, and cooking
  • Help create and maintain a safe and supportive environment
  • Promote independence and life skills development
  • Build trusting relationships with young people, encouraging their engagement in education, work, and social activities
  • Ensure young people are supported in meeting their individual care plans and achieving their goals
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to support young people's progress

Essential Requirements

  • A minimum of 12 months' experience in a children's residential care home or youth work. (Consideration will be given to experience working with adults in a similar setting)
  • Level 2 NVQ or QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Applicants must be aged 21 or over
  • The right to work in the UK with no restrictions
  • Desirable Requirements

  • A good understanding of Ofsted's Supported Accommodation Regulations and Quality Standards
  • A solid understanding of person-centred approaches
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
