Hyper SQ is recruiting for a talented Back End Engineer to join an exciting, fast-paced team.
You will join a growing, multi-disciplinary team that encourages innovation and contribution from everyone. Here you will use the latest technology to produce scalable services, helping to solve complex problems that will have a real impact on Hyper SQ’s users and the success of the business.
What you’ll be doing
- You will be working within an Agile software development team with some of the latest tech including AWS ECS / EKS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Opensearch and SNS, creating services that power our revolutionary web and native mobile applications.
- Drive Back End development and contribute heavily towards architectural decisions
- Advocate best practices including test coverage and automation
- Design reviews and code reviews
- Active involvement in refinement and planning sessions
- Working well in a team context adapting to and influencing team practices
- Optimise applications for speed and scalability
Skills & requirements
Proven track record building online services and APIs, having built and scaled end-to-end mobile / web applicationsFamiliar with principles such as SOLID, TDD, YAGNI and KISS — even better if you practise most of themExperienced with SQL and NoSQL database developmentExperience working with cloud technologies such as AWS or AzureComfortable following best practices (CI, Docker Containerization, Automated testing)Added bonuses (or the cherries on top!)
DevOps strategies such as IaC and automated pipelines e.g. Jenkins, TeamCity etc.Experience with geolocation and mapping technologiesA passion for travel or exploring!The qualifications and experiences above are a guide and we would still love to hear from you if you believe you have the necessary skills to excel with us.
