Cyber Security Lead

The Vacancy

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our IT department as a Cyber Security Lead, on a full-time basis in our Glasgow office.

What will your role look like?

Our IT team is made up of enthusiastic and experienced IT professionals who provide innovative technology in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role sits within our IT networking and security team, responsible for maintaining key cyber security technologies and the underlying network infrastructure. We are looking to recruit an experienced Cyber Security Lead who wants to expand their knowledge in this area. You will manage a small team of cyber security engineers, drive new initiatives, maximize value from existing security technologies including our M365 tenancy, and assist the IT Network & Security Manager in delivering the IT business plan.

Key responsibilities include :

• Manage, mentor, and develop the cyber security team.
• Use Azure DevOps to set and manage project-related tasks.
• Oversee service request tickets related to cyber security, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Optimize the use of our Microsoft Licensing Agreement.
• Collaborate with the Security Operations Centre and Networking engineers to drive security initiatives.
• Participate in cross-team projects as a cyber security subject matter expert.
• Act as the technical lead and escalation point for cyber security queries.
• Research and advise on best practices and new security solutions.
• Provide technical mentoring and knowledge transfer.
• Monitor and respond to security platforms actively.
• Utilize automation tools to improve efficiency.
• Lead in security technology implementation, vendor selection, and documentation.
• Build relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and build business cases for their adoption.
• Drive continuous improvement for ISO-27001 and Cyber Essentials compliance.
• Ensure adherence to security standards, policies, and procedures, including external audits.

Key Technologies :

To succeed, you should have a passion for IT Security, current experience at an architect level, and experience managing a small team. You should have a track record of implementing complex security projects, excellent communication skills, and ideally experience with Agile / Scrum and technology vendor partnerships.
