Job description

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on planning matters, including Section 106 Agreements and planning obligations.
  • Draft and negotiate legal documentation including deeds and agreements.
  • Attend and advise at Planning Committee meetings once a month.
  • Handle planning-related enquiries, some licensing issues, and high volumes of FOI requests. (Highly desirable but not essential)
  • Liaise effectively with planning officers and keep them updated on progress.
  • Ensure timely and efficient file management with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with prior local authority planning law experience.
  • Strong communication and client-handling skills.
  • Availability to work part-time (22 hours / week) and attend in-person meetings monthly.
  • Experience with information governance or FOI is highly desirable.
