Job Summary

Working within a team of specialist Consultants and junior doctors in training, the post holder will be expected to initiate and provide sound clinical / medical practices to patients admitted to the Medicine division, whilst supporting patients' family and friends demonstrating the patient is the central focus of care. The post involves participation in the on-call rota.The post holder will be predominately based at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital but should also be prepared to work at any HHFT site if required.

Clerk and post take administration; writing in patients noteso Undertake patient reviewso Investigating and initiating medical managemento Patient assessmento Drug prescription+o Discharge administrationo Promptly update patient systemso Attend clinicso Attend Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings.o Facilitate daily board round with MDTo Triage to medical teams / acute physicians as appropriateo Trouble shoot patients on the wardo Conduct ward roundso Provide supervision and management to junior doctorso Take part in the medical on-call shift system.

We provide one hospital service across multiple localities, delivering services as close as possible to the patient. BNHH and RHCH are 23 miles apart, situated in the middle of the M3 corridor, with excellent transport links to London and the south coast.

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • GMC registration

  • Management of medical admissions at ST3+ level
